In continuing our mission to promote the development of our youth, City SC San Marcos (CSCSM) is proud to offer $3000.00 in annual college scholarships.
Scholarships awarded will be funded in $500 increments, with the maximum value of $1,500 awarded to any single candidate. Program funding is limited a scholarship award is not guaranteed.
Applications must be submitted to info@cityscsanmarcos.com no later than April 30th of the year they graduate high school. The board will announce the winners in May.
Scholarship Qualifications
To qualify for the scholarship award, candidates must:
- Have participated in CSCSM.
- Graduate from high school the year in which the award will take place.
- Be a student in good standing at their high school and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Have documented volunteer time to a CSCSM program.
The Board of Directors will determine the scholarship awards and will give preference to candidates based on their volunteer time to City SC San Marcos along with their demonstration of good character, leadership and community involvement.
Application Requirements
- Complete College Scholarship Application Form.
- Provide proof of acceptance in an educational program (College, University, Trade School).
- Submit a short essay (maximum three page, double spaced) that addresses the following:
- Introduction: Introduce yourself (use full name), interests, hobbies, and affiliation with CSCSM.
- Academics: Describe your life as a student and involvement in activities.
- Career Plans: Describe your current plans for education and a career. What steps are you taking to reach your goals? What qualities do you see in yourself that will help you reach your goals?
- City SC San Marcos Involvement: Reflect on your experience with CSCSM as a player and volunteer. What are your thoughts on volunteerism?
